Puddicombe Estate Winery was a very pretty and quiet overnight spot. Again, we recommend this Harvest Host. See yesterday's post for more about them.
note: The oriental rug standing up behind the passenger seat is my parent's being delivered from Florida and given to our son in Wisconsin via NC and NY. The van is going to seem much bigger once the rug is delivered!
I wandered around the fields after breakfast and found a spider web highlighted by the morning dew. By 0830 the fog lifted and skies were clear.

Albion Falls - Red Hill Creek Overlook
There are well marked trails along the Niagara Escarpment to Buttermilk Falls if you want to stretch your legs.
There was a grist mill at Albion Falls from the 1700's until 1915. It was started by a loyalist from North Carolina that fought alongside the British in the American Revolution. After the war, William Davis was granted 2300 acres, including these falls. The stone from the original mill is displayed in the park.

Stopped here to stretch and take a short walk.
Springer Lake was very close to the parking lot.
These leaves were huge (8 inches or so) and starting to lose their summer color. Looking them up later revealed them to be from the American Basswood tree.

Crossed the Bluewater Bridge from Point Edward, ON into Port Huron, MI
There was about a 35 minute wait at customs. It wasn't bothersome as there is a great view of the St Clair River as it meets Lake Huron. The vista brought back memories of sailing under the bridge back in the 1980's when we were working in the Detroit area and exploring the area by sailboat.

Kudos to Beth's sister Judy for finding a date and a campground where we could all get together.
Our contribution was cider from last night's Harvest Host stay.
The only bummer over the weekend was that Jen & Jim's Jeep conked out and had to be towed back to the campground.
We have great confidence that Jim will get it running again (since confirmed). He's done an amazing job restoring and upgrading this fun vehicle.
