Leave the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad, a Harvest Host site. It was a delightfully quiet place to spend the night. Check out yesterday's post for more about the railroad.

Not far from Milford, we stopped for a turn in front of this barn sporting a sign reading "The Morehouse Place, settled in 1797."
0900 66,321 53°F For several days we have been seeing large yellow flowering shrubs along stream banks. Beth finally captured a photo and looked it up. Though pretty, Japanese Knotweed is an invasive species native to Japan, China and Korea.
With high ceilings and a traditional looking station clock I commented to Beth that it had really been nicely restored.
In researching the history, we learned that it is actually new construction, opened in 2018. The designers did a great job replicating the feel of a 20th century depot.
Here's some local railroad history featuring equipment from the Delaware & Hudson and New York Central.
The small model is a D&H train led by the Sturbridge Lion, the first steam locomotive operated in the United States.
Schenectady is home to General Electric, formed here in 1892. A microphone (left) and a toaster are on display. GE built the first electric toaster for home use in 1909.
One more look at the new Schenectady Station, with our Lexor parked out front. The area is being redeveloped with lots of new shops and apartments under construction.

Don't tell anyone, but there is a free dump station at the treatment plant on Anthony Street! Potable water is not available there.
Arrived at camp, under grey skies. We're looking forward to a few weeks of visiting family and communing with nature in the Adirondacks.
