Model Trains and Model T's

Visited Gibsonville to see the Garden Railroad in operation.  A bonus was meeting a group of Model T owners who had the same idea. 

It's a fun place to see model trains operating in their town park.

The layout operates most Saturdays from nine to noon.

Twenty-two trains can run at once around the many loops.

I enjoyed watching the wide variety of trains, and talking with the volunteers.

One of the volunteers invited me in to get better photos.

We've seen Weiner Mobile drivers training in Wisconsin. Didn't realize that some of them ride the rails.

A double header of narrow gauge (1:22.5 scale) steam engines.

Here's an engineer adding a passenger car to a train to give you an idea of the size of these models.

Lots of Thomas the Tank Engine action appealed to young visitors.

Lots of NC spots are modeled like the impressive Cape Fear lift bridge.

LGB (Lehman Gross Bahn) trains from Germany are popular and reliable for outdoor running.

Cabooses have not yet been abandoned on the line.

Four engines work to pull a line of coal hoppers up a grade.

1:1 Scale trains pass the models as the main line between Raleigh and Charlotte runs through town.

It was a treat to see Classic Model T's

They even look good from the back.

Some interesting places weren't open on Saturday morning.

We'll definitely visit again when County Line Creamery is open!
