With a goal of finding a dentist to look at my broken molar, we called our friends in Montana and asked for a recommendation. Finding that their dentist could see me tomorrow, it was time to leave British Columbia and head south. Unusual for us, we used interstates to quickly cover the 384 miles to the Missoula area.
A little after 0900, we passed Bonner's Ferry marking the closure of the Selkirk Loop. We really enjoyed the variety and beauty of this path passing through Idaho, Washington, and British Columbia. Click on the colored link above for lots of information for trip planning.
We did take time for a lunch stop was at the Old Mission State Park outside Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
This blue Parrish house was built in 1887.
Not only are there historic buildings, but a modern 5,000 square foot exhibit "tells the story of how Jesuit missionaries came to the interior Northwest at the invitation of the Coeur d' Alene and Salish tribes and the profound effects this sacred encounter had on both cultures."
Erected in 1850, the Mission is the oldest building in Idaho.
Blue stain inside the chapel was made from local huckleberries.
By 1742 we arrived in Stevensville where we were boondocking at the Schott's ranch.
Evening brought out the local quail family.
Thanks to Doug and Janet for letting us boondock, once again, in their lovely yard.
Longer than our average drive today. We crossed back into the US, closed the loop, and headed back to the Missoula Area.
