Cherry Creek

Urban Steam was the spot for our farewell brunch with Jack and Sue. We had a great time catching up on all the changes in their lives. Thanks so much for sharing your backyard with us!
Love the Urban Steam logo. It would have fit right in to the Steamworks themed robotics competition we participated in a few years ago.
Interstate 25 was flat and fast for our trip north. We have reservations just outside of Denver so we can visit with Beth's nephew over the weekend.
Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora is as close to Denver as we could find. It's $10/day for an entrance fee plus $29/day for a non-serviced site. The  sites are large with a decent amount of space between them.
Walking up to the top of the berm gave us a good overview of our campsite. I can understand why folks like drone photos.

We drove out to the King Sooper grocery store in order to restock the fridge. We had it turned off and defrosted while we were getting spoiled at Jack and Sue's.
Looking to the west, we can see the majestic Rocky Mountains.
The State Park has a lake with beaches. White Pelicans were the only souls we spotted enjoying the water.

Bath houses at Cherry Creek are clean and modern.
My only objection was that quarters were required to take showers. 50 cents buys you three minutes of hot water.
The drive from Colorado Springs was short, but traffic was heavy. We strayed from our usual practice of avoiding interstates. It might be more relaxing to take 83 next time.
